Lazy Day

Last night I put my hair in rollers but they didn't seem to work right.. So i had to put the mess of waves up which I kind of like.

I spent my weekend in my home town with my family and friends and I'm now back in the city for thanksgiving weekend. My phone is cut off due to the fact I can never pay bills on time but my friend Minh contacted me and we are going to have thanksgiving very late lunch together.

22nd Birthday

I celebrated my 22nd birthday on Friday the 20th. It was really fun! The night before i got my ticket to see Marina & The diamonds in September with Taylor. Taylor and I went to a restaurant that night as well! It was called O Noir you eat in pitch black. You can't see anything! You even have to be lead to your table! The wait staff are actually blind! We drank beers and ate pasta! It was an amazing experience! So many exclamation points!!!!

We then went to Crews and Tangos and I was pulled on stage by a drag queen to wish me a happy birthday!

My Birthday Party was spent at my apartment with friends drinking and listening to music. One of my favorite presents was from Jessica who made my feather earrings and gave me this book...

I met Steve Bays of Hot Hot Heat Thursday night! Steph took me to Tattoo Rock Parlour and she bumped into him and invited him to the booth for a drink. I had a few drinks in me and I was very excited but I got him to sign my AGO ticket I had in the bottom of my purse. They are amazing live I saw Hot Hot Heat at The Horseshoe Tavern as well!

I went to the beach with my sister Jen, Her boyfriend Nick, and her friend Nicole. We swam, played volley ball and buried Nick and turned him into a mermaid.

Rip! A Remix Manifesto. I watched this documentary this past weekend. Its about copyright and remixing. About progress in art and culture. Its really really good. I downloaded the National Film Board of Canada app on my Itouch to watch movies while I'm travelling and I'm hooked to the films! Rip! A Remix Manifesto is definitely one of my favourites right now!

Mad Men

I'm hooked. I want to start curling my hair everyday wearing bright lipstick and amazing dresses. I'm on season one right now. I feel like I jumped on this band wagon late but I LOVE this show! It's going to fill the void until Big Love starts up again! It also makes me want to dye my blonde hair red like Joan Holloway.

My art assistant job was supposed to start up again today. My rents going up. And I still haven't received that important email I've been waiting for. Random Facts About me

1) I've never had long hair in my life. When I was young I used to twirl my hair into knots and pull them out of my head. This left me with bald patches and my parents decided to keep my hair short. This is the longest my hair has ever been and I want to keep growing it.

2) I prefer female singers over male singers. I especially love female singers with strong unique voices such as Kate Bush, Edith Piaf and right now I really enjoy Bessie Smith.

3) I love the sauce you put on food more then the food itself. Ranch is my favourite, I pour ranch on EVERYTHING.

4) I wish my middle name was my first name.

5) At birth my mother wanted to name me Morag.

6) I drink Milk more then a regular person should. My mother used to threaten to buy powder milk because I'd drink all the milk to fast. I love milk.

7) Ever since I hit 8th grade people always asked me if I wore make-up. I didn't start wearing make-up until grade 10 and even then it was just cover-up to cover my extremely rosy cheeks and mascara. I get people telling me I wear to much make-up when in fact I could be wearing very little or no make-up what so ever.

Well theres some random facts about me. I'm so bored I've been sitting around waiting for an email. A very important email... I hate waiting..

I didn't realize that I already made it to my 100th post! I also forgot to post my final painting! Its called Sleep. I am SO busy and really stressed right now! UGH school what happened? Hope everyone else is having a good start to the week.

Yesterday Shawn took me to a restaurant called Fresh. It's all vegetarian food.

I had Simple Noodles and Shawn had a veggie wrap. It was pretty good. The onion rings were so delicious! I'm going back for the black bean burrito and sweet potato fries! It sounded so good. Oh and below are 2 paintings Explosion is complete while the other is still in progress!

I have been so busy this week finishing my semester but I will be getting back to regular blogging very soon! I still have 2 assignments to finish up and I'm back to work tomorrow and I have another job interview. If I get the job I'll tell you what it is but if not I'm just going to not mention it! Artist Assistant round 2

So I was asked back to work as an art assistant for Min Hyung! I'm so happy and also stressed because this is my last week of school! Anyways back to art assisting! I went today to help and Min told us that the sculptures we assisted her with were photographed and went over really well at the gallery show. There where pictures on the website but I will also post them here!

The sculptures are creatures from her 5th dimension world..

4 other assistants and I all worked on the woman.

I did not work on this male sculpture, but am currently helping to make a male right now. Min wants 20 of these sculptures! They are puzzle pieces attached to mannequins. Very time consuming but it turned out so amazing!. Min is also a very talented painter I will link her website and also Skew Gallery below!

Zoran Dobric Fashion Show

My friend Chris styled a fashion show for Toronto Fashion week and got my a ticket to the show! The label is Zoran Dobric and the show was lovely! I even got very lucky and sat right up front near the opening of the runway! It was very exciting as it was my first fashion show!I know this is kind of lame buuut I'm even a blurry image in the video! Around 1:37 you can see a blurry me in the right side of the frame!

At Home Sick For the Weekend.

I've been in my home town all weekend to visit, and to take my G license tomorrow. For any one that doesn't know what a G license is, its a graduated driver's license. In Ontario you break up the license in 3 parts:

G1 (Written exam, it allows you to drive with a 4 year G license holder)

G2 (A driving exam, it allows you to drive alone with some ristrictions such as hours you can't drive, how many people are allowed in the car, and so on)

and finally G (another driving test, once passed it allows you to have your full license with no ristrictions)

You have to wait a at least a year in between all of these license and I've waited 4 years to take my G license, but now its expiring and so I'm taking the driving exam sick!

I'm bored tired and tired of ALL my classes. I am not taking one class that I'm truly enjoying. There are projects here and there that I enjoy but over all I hate this semester. I worked as an art assistant for the past 4 days and I am very very tired! I was working with 5 other people including my friend Steph. Now I have so much home work to catch up on. The only productive thing I have done all week was donate blood. I promote blood donation, I wish I did it more often and now that I live near the clinic I have to reason not to! To learn more about donating in Canada click here.

January 26 is Australia and I just got some pictures back. We went out to the bars then back to Jason and James' apartment for more celebrations. I finally got some pictures but I'm only going to post one because I'm very sleepy and I have class early. (2:09 am!! aahh I have an 8 am class!)

Apparently we partied with Edward Cullen.... The night was very fun!

I just went to get tea with my friend and we went to a place called David's Tea. Its delicious and very cute. I like tea a lot. I definitely think that earl grey or green tea are my favourites. This time I got a vanilla flavour. Its very tasty!

Favorite Shows

I'd like to think I don't watch a lot of shows but there are some shows I love. My favourite show right now is 'Big Love' I am always so excited for the next episode to come out! (although I'm not enjoying the Margie and Ben story line at all)

Other then that I like 30 Rock, Community, The Big Bang Theory, and my guilty pleasure is Top Model (U.S and Canada). There are shows that I do watch over again because I love them and I wish they weren't taken off the air. One was a cartoon called Clone High.

I had a photo an hour blog to put up but my camera USB cord has decided it doesn't want to work. So today I have 2 random posts about old shoes and my velvet bow and painting.

My little sister got it for me for christmas. Its from American Apparel and was on my wish list! Also my bangs are new as well!

My painting is almost complete I haven't decided if I want to paint over the trees or leave them there... When I am complete this series of three they are all going to be put up for sale. Its only the 2nd landscape painting I've done.

The more I look at the trees the more I want to paint over them!

p.s sorry for the crappy photobooth pictures. My camera is always acting up I should just buy a new one.. but I'm so broke..

These are 2 of 3 projects. I'm working on this landscape which is a project for school were I have to take a a nature subject and paint it three times. The first one has to be more realistic and the next two become more abstract.

The bottom is a collage. The sketch is by me I'm preparing to pick my colours and start on canvas.

This bird is part of my present for my friend Taylor. It's not for school but it has been taking me forever to get around to finishing these drawings for him since classes have started up again.

My other project is a photo project which I haven't started yet. I will explain it when I post it later on.. possibly next week. I'm not sure when the project is due.... I love having mondays off. Very relaxing and I am lazing around slowly getting some work done.

I read the book awhile ago I have to admit I cried a lot. Although the book was better I really thought the movie was amazing as well... It's a very emotional story I recommend both. I think Peter Jackson did a very good job and only a little upset that he is not directing The Hobbit....

Happy New Year! I'm very tired we celebrated well into the New Year at my apartment. I got my H&M dress to wear for the occasion.

I wore it with my Zipper Booties from Spring. Taylor is beside me.

Holidays

I love the holidays! I'm very excited for the New Year! My room mate and I are hosting a party at our place and I've been preparing for 2 days! The apartment has never looked so clean! As for my christmas it was very lovely. I spent it with my mother and father my 2 sisters and my Nanny. I got some amazing gifts one being the American apparel velvet bow headband from my youngest sister! And I would have to mention the lovely Zara skirt from my other sister! I don't want to make a huge post about gifts but there is one I want to post! I was spoiled by my boyfriend this year as part of my present he got me a pair of boots that I had been eyeing for weeks before the holidays.

Zipper Booties from Spring. They are beautiful and I will wear them out and about for the first time with my New Years dress!
